Are you like me, finding yourself unceasingly inspired by beautiful images of design, food and fashion content captured all week long on social media? There is a wealth of talent and creativity that continues to stop me in my tracks when scrolling on Instagram and Pinterest. The spread runs the gamut, from over-the-top homes and design to simple and refined moments. I decided to capture some of my favorites every week as a way to savor them over time and to share them with all of you.
1. Vintage Simplicity at its finest
This photo is from the lovely @mrskorff of https://thegardenerscottage.blogspot.com/?m=1 She is famous for her beautiful vintage finds sourced from estate sales, thrift stores, yard sales and even items left for trash on the street (Nate Berkus swears by this!). Janet has the most BEAUTIFUL feed and exudes great style with the best eye for detail. I love her approach to little details and her overall aesthetic of simplicity, beauty and function. As she says, “I’ve never met a dead branch I didn’t love” and of course, she styles it splendidly. She is also vegan and a formally trained chef so be sure to check out her equally simple yet exquisite recipes.
2. English cottage charm
OMG, I just want to move right in to this kitchen by @thefoxgroup that is actually the kitchen in a pool house! Those beautiful cabinets, brass hardware with that gorgeous brass faucet, french-striped skirted sink and floor done in cut blocks of granite! I have gone back to look at this image numerous times and find myself attempting to find little ways to style my kitchen to look even a little like this one. The @thefoxgroup does some of the most beautiful design I’ve ever seen.
3. Sophisticated elegance
Can you tell I have a thing for white painted brick, brass lanterns and arched doorways? Marianne Brown of @wdesigncollective creates such beautiful homes with graceful contrast and balance like this photo so perfectly illustrates. I recently read a quote from her that really resonated with me about “…the importance of living in a place that uplifts” and “…of the feeling you create in your home that can be done with design, decoration and with how we live and treat each other to create a place of love”. She’s also in the middle of building her own home and I love following along to see its progress as well as all of her other projects.
4. Natural and cozy
Have you been following the @jennikayne lake house project? It just wrapped this week and she’s sharing its debut with a celebratory party and pictures to take a peak into its enchanting details. The natural materials and layers of texture and warmth create such a cozy space. I love their manta ‘to create a beautiful space meant for slowing down and living well with loved ones”. Amen to that!
Just look at that exterior entryway complete with beautiful glass paned front door, olive tree and a natural runner to serve as the doormat. I purposefully left the “watch full IGTV video” in the picture to compel you to do so. You won’t be disappointed.
5. food, glorious, food
Finally, let’s end on food. Do you follow Jessica Seinfeld @jessseinfeld ? She makes delicious, healthy food and has a great sense of humor. I saw this on her IG video earlier in the week and with my love affair with curry, decided to make it last night. I doubled the recipe and thank goodness I did because everyone loved it. I also served it over steamed Basmati rice. One of my daughters took leftovers to school for lunch today and I actually ate some for breakfast. So yeah, it’s reallllllly good!
