With the season of decorating and gift-giving upon us, I thought I’d share some favorite decor, gift items, and winter essentials to make this season simpler, cozier, and even more enjoyable!
for your home

Fresh Greenery – There’s nothing quite like the scent of fresh pine ,balsam fir and cedar in your home. If you live near a Trader Joe’s or Home Depot, it’s extremely affordable, too ($7.99 for fresh garland and $9.99 for fresh wreaths at Trader Joe’s). I use garland to decorate my kitchen window and fireplace. Fresh wreaths hang on my front and back doors and mini wreaths in my daughters’ rooms. It’s such a simple and festive touch that goes a long way in both holiday decorating and gifting. If these affordable options aren’t available to you, go to a Christmas Tree stand and gather the branches left over from cutting the tree stems. They’re free and smell amazing!
cozy blankets and throws
Cozy Blankets – A snuggly blanket for the sofa or bed is a must this time of year. Marshalls is loaded with so many great ones right now at amazing price points to add an extra festive and cozy feel to your home.
This tartan throw is a steal and so is this one! I bought one for myself and a couple to give as gifts. It’s so pretty draped over a chair or at the end of a bed for the perfect festive touch. Plus, they’re made in Portugal.

This one is perfect for snuggling. I have a similar one on my sofa that gets used daily and looks nice even when it’s spread out and not folded.

This is a nice neutral one that works with almost any decor and adds the perfect amount of texture.
Candles, Diffusers and bread board

Candles – My favorite holiday candle this year is this one from West Elm and was gifted to me from my sister. Its balsam cedar scent fills the room and is housed in the prettiest speckled mercury container. It’s one of those candles you can smell even when it’s not lit.
Diffusers – A diffuser is another way to spread earthy holiday scents around the house and is a healthier option than candles. I have this one and love it, although it’s a bit of a splurge – plus, it lasts up to 8 hours. I also have this one in another room. I love to diffuse peppermint, cinnamon and christmas spirit this time of year. You can find diffusers at even lower price points at Amazon and discount stores like TJMaxx and Marshalls.
Bread Board – I love these reclaimed wood bread and cheese boards boards from @mcgeeandco and am adding one to my own Christmas list. I love how natural wood warms up your kitchen and these are pretty all alone or when layered.
simple & Beautiful Wrapping

Wrapping and Packaging -I love to wrap presents and officially learned how when I worked at Nordstrom during college. We wrapped a million and one gifts during the holiday season and I got it down to a science.
Wrap Station – I’m a big fan of Sugar Paper @sugarpaperla and their @sugarpaperxtarget holiday collection is my go to for wrapping paper and ribbon. The prices are so affordable and the quality is just what you’d expect from this quaint boutique paper store. Look at that velvet ribbon and those adorable gift tags! I buy a little extra since I tend to hoard the more neutral colors and love to use it throughout the year. Whether it’s a gift box, a food item or anything else, adding a beautiful ribbon and sprig of greenery elevates the most simple things, like this. I use this basket to corral all the wrapping supplies so you can grab it and wrap wherever needed.
Wardrobe
I bought this sweater a couple of weeks ago at H&M and am obsessed with it! I wore it three times in the last week, including on Thanksgiving day. It’s so comfortable, soft and I adore all the pearls that dress it up. You certainly can’t beat the $29.99 price and it’s made in Turkey.

I also just bought this sweater during J Crew’s 50% of promotion (which will definitely happen again this month so keep an eye out) and LOVE it! It’s been chilly in LA and we’ll be spending New Year’s in Utah so I plan on getting a lot of use out of it. Aren’t the sparkly jeweled buttons so cute?
Pajamas and Loungewear
This is my second year getting holiday pajamas at Target. I bought these and can hardly stay out of them. For colder nights, I’m wearing this and this (and tend to lounge around in them too long in the morning or find myself changing into them very early in the evening!). They are so cozy, comfortable and wash up great.
Holiday clean up

Last year, I purchased this and to say I’m obsessed would be an understatement! It makes clean up SO FAST AND EASY and you don’t have to fight the cord! It converts to a handheld and includes three attachments. I vacuum all of our floors, furniture, shades and cars with it. Did I mention how easy it is to use? Simply charge it in between uses and you’re set. It’s currently on sale at Target!
